Red dots are great for sub 100m shots. It's great because once you zero that fucker you don't have to worry about your sight picture.

How far out are you shooting that you need a zoomed scope? I want to get an AR15 so I can prqctise and keep my aim good. We don't really get to shoot where i am now.

I finished up my AR15 project this weekend. Besides ordering the parts, painting some, and putting it all together, I added a Nikon P-223 series scope (3x9x40), forward grip, and sling. Scope zero'd quickly to 100 yards and is dead on.

The only other item I'd like is a bipod but I really don't want the extra weight added. Rifle is very light at this point, maybe one with a quick disconnect would be ok.

Thanks pal.

I'd always heard terrible things about Taurus as a brand. This was literally the first 10 shots I had fired in over 7 years, from a pistol I have never shot from chambered in .45

I was really happy and quite surprised.

Bonus:

Mossberg "Persuader" 7+1 shotgun with 3 shots of 00Buck which translates to 9 pellets roughly the size of a .32 caliber bullet? SO MUCH FUN. I feel bad for uninvited guests in my home.

I have a little Taurus .380 ultra compact you can see earlier in this thread and it is like a little cannon. Has been very dependable so far. I believe Taurus is also US made now and has a lifetime warranty.

Bought a new concealed carry semi-automatic a couple months ago and forgot to post it. I wanted a size up from that little Taurus .380 I posted earlier so I got the Taurus PT111G2 9mm. It was around $330 at Academy sports and got great reviews on the gun forums. I was originally looking for a Glock but don't like their lack of a thumb safety. This one does and was priced better.

Comes with two 12 round mags, has a steel upper and a composite lower. There is a key you can insert into the side that locks the gun and a pop-up indicator so you know when there is a round in the chamber. I've gotten hooked on Taurus with that lifetime warranty. Bought low-profile Phobos holster for it.

That's a damn fine piece. My only problem with smaller guns are my freakishly large hands. Wait, maybe my penis is just very small.

Never mind.

I have larger hands also and this one feels like a full sized 1911, all my fingers fit on the grip. I guess the "compact" part is the 3.25 inch barrel length.

Very nice. The grip size is one thing i kind of dislike about the CC revolvers im looking at, my pinky completely misses the grip and my ring finger is about half way on.
