Ironman themed AR15 I saw in a post today. Blue LEDs in the forward grip.

Wow, that looks interesting. I hope it's not just spray-painted. How do you color something like that?

Sidenote: I need more weapons.

A lot of the guys that hunt with an AR will just use rattle-can Krylon to camo their guns, then they strip it and repaint it for a different season. If you want it professionally done, you can have it Cerakoted, where they use an industrial quality paint that is baked on. Some guys do that at home but apparently you need to use an old oven placed outside for ventilation instead of the one in your kitchen.

I bought a can of Alumahyde II and painted the forward grip and most recently, the upper receiver, on the AR15 I ordered the parts and built last year. This is the new paint job, old pic is earlier in this thread. Although it's rattle-can paint, it rejects gun oil and solvents and it hasn't chipped or worn off on me yet.

Damn that thing looks sexy. Very tastefully done. I'd LOVE to squeeze a few off with that thing!

Thanks , I am not really a fan of those "kitchen sink" AR-15s. My first AR was a store bought Smith and Wesson and I put a big 'ol quad rail on front to hold accessories. Damn thing is heavy. This one has a really light single rail and is much lighter. I didn't even add any iron sights and debated that black plastic forward hand grip because I wanted to keep it minimalistic. The bipod folds forward and backward is has quick release to just take it off, which I only snapped on for this pic.

New .45 cal Springfield 1911. I have a couple 9mms but always wanted a 45. The Sig was just a bit too pricey and I had my heart set on the full sized model in a stainless. I added the compensator, which really doesn't do much, but Frank Castle endorses it.

Dude, your taste in weapons is amazing. I've always wanted a Para Ordnance or a Springfield 1911.

Any plans for this one or you going to leave it pretty much as-is?

Probably as is but I do kind of like the skeletonized triggers with the designs in them. When I come across one I like, will probably buy and swap it out. I did buy a ridiculous tactical thigh holster for this one because it is freakin' HEAVY. The empty gun is 39 ounces, adding the compensator and 8 rounds of .15 ACP adds another 18 ounces. Its definitely not a carry weapon at that weight because it will pull your pants off. The thigh holster is kind of Deadpool overkill but I'll strap it on when I'm hunting or backpacking.

I love the 1911 it has such good weight for a handgun. I feel like I can aim so much better with it.
